St. Mary's School, Mazgaon

 

This school was started in 1864 at Mazagaon by the Jesuits. This is one of the oldest schools in the area. A special Postal Cover was also released in 2013 by the Post Master General in 2013 to commemorate 150 years.

This is a Picture Post Card of a Coolie (Worker) from nearly a century ago. The life of a Coolie seems to have not changed in the last 100 years.

Bombay, View of Apollo Bunder

 

An unused Picture post card of Apollo Bunder. The Kings Statue is now replaced by statue of Chatrapati Shivaji.

This is an early PPC showing a view of Bombay. It was sent to Berlin from Bombay in November of 1799. Pre-1900's PPC's are difficult to find.

Prince of Wales Hotel, Elphinstone Circle

 

This Hotel was in one of the buildings on Elphinstone (Horniman) Circle. 

Bombay - Photo postcard of Tram operated by BEST

 

This is a Photo made to a picture post card showing the BEST (Bombay Electric and Suburban Transport) Tram. The last of the trams were shut down in the 1960's.

Bombay Racecourse.

 

A View of the Racecourse stand. This is now called as the Mahalaxmi Race course which was built in 1883. We can see the chimneys of many factories in the distance.
